Itinerary

Two pronghorn antelopes resting beside a dirt road in a grassy field with a background of rolling hills and a herd of bison grazing in the distance.
Inside a narrow, winding canyon with reddish-brown rocky walls, small patches of vegetation, and dim lighting.

Day 1 - The day starts with a guided tour of the famed Wind Cave. Onto two wheels, riders will wind through the quiet backroads of the Black Hills. Next in store is Custer State Wildlife Refuge. Animals as small as a prairie dog and as large as a herd of buffalo will be spectating roadside. After a visit to the Bison Center riders have the opportunity to climb up to the Mt Coolidge fire tower and soak in the expanse. The day wraps up pedaling through Custer and past the Crazy Horse.

Mountain range with rocky peaks in the background, surrounded by a dense forest of green pine trees under a partly cloudy blue sky.
Mount Rushmore National Memorial with four carved faces of U.S. presidents surrounded by trees and a clear blue sky.

Day 2 - Rolls out of the hotel and onto a gravel railroad bed. After a few miles embark onto one of the most underrated scenic beauties in the United States. On the Needles Highway riders will weave amongst giant granite cathedrals gawking at their stunning beauty. Take an optional 1 mile flat hike looping Sylvan Lake in the heart of these granite giants. The ride continues onto the Peter Norbeck scenic byway known for its pigtails and tunnels showcasing Mt Rushmore. This builds the excitement for Mt Rushmore. Soak in views from all angles on the 6/10 mile Presidential trail. Finish the day rolling along centuries old rail lines likely catching a view of a 150-year-old steam engine puffing by.

Six children standing on rocky terrain with a canyon in the background, four girls and two boys, smiling and posing for the photo.
Person holding a bowl of three scoops of ice cream, two chocolate and one vanilla, with melted chocolate on top.

Day 3 - After a transfer to the ghost town of Scenic, riders will descend down to the valley flanking the Badlands. The morning light brings out incredible colors from the layers of the sedimentary rock. Before long riders will find themselves riding amongst these infamous rock spires. Short hikes off showcase the colors bleeding from different layers of the Earth. The day concludes with a sandwich and ice cream and the famed Wall Drug.

A dirt road winding through open green fields under a cloudy sky.
A group of cyclists riding up a dirt road through a green landscape with cloudy sky.

Day 4 - Gravel Day. This day is your day to explore the back country of the Black Hills. The FA.S.T Endurance will be supporting a ~25, 50, & 75 mile route. Nothing fancy, just get in a nice carefree ride. Then get a shower in before driving or flying home
